At Orrick I sat across the firm's core practice areas, developing a commercially grounded skill set shaped by the demands of high-value, cross-border matters. I drafted commercial contracts, advised on UK and EU data protection matters, and supported complex corporate and financing deals.

Throughout my training I consistently demonstrated a commercial mindset, strong written advocacy, and the ability to take ownership of workstreams, lead client interactions and adapt to fast-moving, technically complex matters. I also led training sessions on document automation tools and utilised AI integrations including HarveyAI and Draftwise.

Commercial & Technology

Drafted and reviewed commercial contracts including service, licence and contractor agreements
Prepared novation agreements, IP assignments, NDAs, variation and termination deeds, and a business separation transitional service agreement
Conducted commercial, IT and data due diligence on acquisitions ranging from $12M to $20M
Prepared clear IP and liability clauses for AI voice-oriented systems and SaaS clients

Data Privacy & Cyber

Advised on UK/EU GDPR data protection principles including lawful basis of processing and data transfer requirements; drafted DPAs and SCCs
Developed and remediated privacy and cookie policies under PECR and the ePrivacy Directive
Provided commercially-minded advice for DPOs and DSARs, including on deleted data and exemptions
Drafted document preservation memoranda and privilege protocols to mitigate litigation and regulatory risk in response to a breach
Triaged and analysed complaints and pre-action correspondence in a large international data breach

Corporate, VC & M&A

Drafted transaction and ancillary documents for technology-focused VC investments, including UK to US flips, and mid-market M&A
Managed both company and investor-side clients during signing and completion.
Led a client call following investigative research on a complex option plan restructuring

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Prepared court applications, witness statements and bundles for commercial disputes and enforcement proceedings
Attended court in relation to an employee data breach and participated in strategy discussions balancing legal, commercial and reputational considerations

Banking & Structured Finance

Led automation of several hundred documents for a $75M financing package
Prepared complex group structure charts and reviewed amendment and restatement agreements for venture debt and financial restructuring matters

Pro Bono & Leadership

Managed pro bono initiatives including advocacy on a care application for a severely disabled child
Mentored juniors and organised a training programme for the trainee cohort
Led training on automation tools and utilised HarveyAI, ChatGPT and Draftwise
